You’re invited to join us at a new technology conference called pii2010 – privacy identity innovation – that is taking place August 17-19 in Seattle during “Seattle Geek Week.”

Hosted by CBS News technology analyst Larry Magid, pii2010 (privacy identity innovation) will explore how emerging technologies and business models are impacting the way data is created, shared and aggregated, and how to strike a balance between protecting sensitive information and enabling innovation.

The conference will bring together key stakeholders from the technology, legal, academic, nonprofit and government communities to talk about the latest developments and where innovation is heading including:

There will also be spots for "guest speakers" from the audience who will be invited to participate in certain sessions onsite. In addition, pii2010 will serve as the official launch pad for pii Labs, an open forum for brainstorming and collaborating taking place at the Space Needle building where you will have an opportunity to share your ideas and projects with other participants. Other special activities at the conference include a screening of the British documentary "Erasing David," featuring the film’s director and namesake David Bond, and a startup "Pitch Slam" where eight promising entrepreneurs will deliver their best 5-minute pitch.
